The second round of the North American Endurance Championship produced a thrilling finish, with the #3 car of 8 Star Motorsports crossing the line only 0.265 seconds behind the #5 Action Express entry. It was also the first time that 8 Star had fielded two Corvettes, with the second car finishing a respectable 11th in it’s first outing. During the race the 3 car of Enzo Potollichio, Stephane Sarrazin and Michael Valiante had to battle back after a 60 second stop and go penalty nearly put them a lap down. Starworks Motorsports had a positive day as well, even though their lead #2 car didn’t finish as well as hoped after a tire gamble late in the race didn’t work out. However they were able to get the #8 car of Scott Mayer, Brendon Hartley and Pierre Kaffer on the podium in third place, and through the misfortune of the #10 Wayne Taylor car, the #2 of Ryan Dalziel and Alex Popow is now tied for the Rolex Championship points lead.
